At Brilliant Read Media, it is our constant endeavour to identify and share some of the unique and compelling stories from the startup ecosystem. As part of this, we invited Riddhi Modi for an interview with Brilliant Read Media. To say further, Riddhi is a Certified Diabetes Educator and Founder at Crimson Bow. Let’s learn more about her background, inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Riddhi:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
As I reflect on my journey, I feel fortunate to have gained diverse exposure across graphic design, packaging, corporate communication, and curated gifting.
I began my career in the packaging industry, where for over five years I managed all-India procurement of Kraft paper and collaborated with multiple packaging units nationwide. Working with clients that included multinationals, I understood how product launches and packaging work hand in hand.
This experience not only gave me insights into the corporate work culture but also sparked my entrepreneurial spirit and laid a strong professional foundation.
After taking a two-year break, I founded Crimson Bow, an organisation focused on corporate communication and design-led gifting solutions. Over the years, I have built 11 years of experience in corporate communication, design, and curated gifting, working closely with reputed clients and leading industry events.
‘Crimson Bow’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving?
Crimson Bow literally means a red bow, which symbolises finesse, celebration, and the classic gesture of cutting a ribbon to mark new beginnings. The name reflects both elegance and purpose — much like the finishing touch of tying a ribbon with style to every gift.
At Crimson Bow, that’s exactly what we do: we bring thoughtfulness, creativity, and design together to transform gifting into an experience rather than just a transaction.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced my share of challenges — from short lead times and protocol-driven decision-making that slowed down conversions, to market-driven price pressures and even the pandemic, which led to event cancellations and a sudden shift to remote work. These moments tested me, but they also taught me resilience and adaptability.
What truly keeps me going is the creativity at the heart of what I do — the joy of waking up each day to uncertainty and still letting passion fuel my work.
At Crimson Bow, we thrive on challenges, whether it’s developing design strategies for clients or helping leaders translate their organisation’s purpose and values into meaningful experiences for their associates and global visitors.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
The first lesson I’ve learned is to never get too attached to a particular business model, role, or client. Industries evolve, opportunities shift, and adaptability is the real key to growth. What should remain constant is passion — when you let passion drive your work, excellence becomes a natural outcome.
The second lesson is the importance of balance. For women especially, navigating multiple roles — professional, personal, and family — is never simple. It requires courage to draw boundaries and clarity to prioritise what truly matters. Balance is not about doing everything; it is about doing the right things well.
And the third, perhaps the most enduring lesson, is to never stop learning. Every experience — whether success or setback — is a teacher. Continuous learning keeps you agile, relevant, and resilient.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
> Concept
> Creativity
> Connect
> Communication
The above 4Cs make Crimson Bow successful
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
Don’t chase titles, chase learning — every skill you pick up will become your toolkit for the future. Stay curious, stay adaptable, and let passion be your compass; success will follow as a byproduct of the value you create.
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
What makes my journey truly satisfying is realising how every stepping stone has contributed to building a strong foundation. Each project — big or small — added to my skill set, some in visible ways, others in intangible but equally powerful ways.
The most gratifying part has been deeply understanding my clients and their organisational values, and then seeing my work reflect that in a language they recognise as their own. That alignment has always been my biggest reward.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of designing across diverse areas — from newsletters and presidential communications to personalised greetings for global leaders, culture-connect stories, and events centred on diversity, inclusion, and women’s empowerment. These experiences didn’t just sharpen my creativity; they infused my work with passion and purpose, which is the heart of the organisation I’ve built.
